Being a mover is not an easy job. There are many different elements that make the job difficult and one of the main ones is the amount of physical work that a mover needs to do on a daily basis. Thus, there is no surprise that movers must be physically prepared to work every single day. Of course, more experienced movers have mastered a certain technique that helps them do their job. However, being strong is a necessity. Powerlifting exercises are a great way to get strong and healthy. So, movers start heading to the gym.
Let’s be honest, when you are searching for your movers online, you never think that you would want movers that hit the gym. It sounds a bit funny, but it is true. That is what you really need. Once you go to the gym, you must know which exercises to do. There are many different types of exercises. However, powerlifting exercises seem to be the best choice. Since we determined they are very important to movers, let us talk about them a bit more.
What are the benefits?
Before you start doing these exercises it is important to know why you are doing them in the first place. How are you going to get motivated if you don’t know why are you doing something? Here are some benefits of powerlifting:
- Increase in bone strength
- Working on full body strength, instead of focusing on a limited group of muscles
- Increase in energy
Managing your time can be a challenge for us all. Sometimes I wish my days consist of 30 hours instead of 24 hours, so I can do everything that I planned. In the beginning, it might be difficult to fit in a workout in your daily routine. However, once you get used to it you will manage your time with pleasure because that is how much better you will feel.
The holy trinity of powerlifting exercises
The three most important exercises are squats, bench press, and deadlift. By no means are these the only three exercises. I would say they are the first that you should master. Later, based on these exercises you will do different variations of exercises to target different muscle groups.

5 powerlifting exercises that every mover should do
Keep in mind these are the most popular exercises. Furthermore, there are many more to explore. If you want to learn more about fitness, wellness and sports activities visit dubaipt.com.
Squats
By doing this exercise you will mostly target your lower body. With that being said, your abs and back will also have a decent workout. Your core will be engaged while you squat. Of course, there are different types of squats. For example, during my basketball college carrier, I used to squat a lot. It helped me strengthen my legs. This was very important since I had a torn ACL surgery on both knees. When in the gym, I preferred to do front squats since I can easily drop the weight in front of me if it turns to be too heavy.
Bench press
This exercise targets your chest, shoulders, and triceps. Just like during other powerlifting exercises, it is very important to have proper form while doing your reps. The bench press looks like a very simple exercise, but there are details that can be done incorrectly. For example, lifting your feet off the ground while pushing the weights up is a big no. Most important, this is an exercise where it is very smart to have a spotter, especially if you are lifting heavy weights.

Deadlift
This exercise is definitely one of the most popular powerlifting exercises. I will not go into detail on how to do it, since explaining it can be very complex. Thus, you should research it well before you try doing it. Be careful, since during this exercise it is easy to injure your back and legs if you do your reps with an incorrect form.
Overhead press
Just like bench press, this is an exercise that emphasizes working on your upper body. Mostly it focuses on your shoulders and chest. Also, the same as with bench press, you must be careful when doing your reps. Whenever you need to lift weights above your head, you must be extra careful.
Power clean
Without a doubt my favorite exercise in the gym. One of the reasons being that is a full body exercise. When doing it, you engage both the upper and lower body. If you want to incorporate this exercise in your workout, I would advise asking a professional to help you. The exercise is complex which makes it easier to get hurt.

Showing off is silly, instead be smart
Please don’t be one of those silly people in the gym, that racks up a bunch of weight on their bars. Most of them can barely pick up the bar with them, let alone do a normal exercise with correct form. This is the easiest and dumbest way to get hurt. Be mindful and smart. If you are a mover, your health is important. If you don’t work, you don’t get paid. Even worst would be to carry your injury to work. Imagine you hurting yourself during a move. Some clients might interpret it as a moving mistake. Hence, be careful and smart.
Why powerlifting exercises for movers? Why not some other type of exercise?
There is a very simple explanation. Powerlifting exercises mimic a lot of movements that we do in real life. In addition to that, they better our strength and endurance. These two factors make powerlifting exercises a perfect choice for movers. Imagine, there is a move that was short notice and you need to act fast and move quickly. There is a big chance if you do your powerlifting exercises, that you will be very efficient in such a situation.
Regardless if you are a mover or not, move your butt and hit the gym. Being fit and strong is beneficial for whichever job you do. Take care of yourself, by taking care of your body. Prioritize and make sure your health and wellbeing are your number one priority.
