How to choose right movers in California in 7 steps

    By Maria S. | Common moving problems | 0 comment | 25 May, 2020 | 0

California is a state where a lot of people move from one place to another. And when you decide to do this, you’ll see that there are dozens of moving companies to choose from. Everyone knows that moving with a good and reliable moving company is important. But when you are faced with so many options to choose from, you might not be sure which moving company to pick. Most of these companies truly are good and reliable, but how to choose right movers in California? How to choose the moving company that you are going to be satisfied with and be able to afford? If this is something you are currently struggling with, we prepared this guide that is going to help you choose right movers in California in just seven steps. Following these steps means hiring a good moving company for your upcoming California relocation.

    1. Ask the people you know for recommendations

The first step to choosing and even finding a reliable moving company is to ask your friends and family. Someone has surely relocated or they know someone who has. This is the best way to find a moving company as you will be able to hear the experience first hand. But as a lot of people are moving, you might get a few different moving companies recommended to you. And when that happens, online research is necessary.

    2. Search for a moving company online

Every reliable moving company should have a website where you can find all the information you need. Mod Movers California is a great example of a reliable moving company with a great website. If there is no website, stay away from that company. It isn’t a good look and it could potentially mean that the moving company isn’t reliable. And moving with an unreliable moving company is something we don’t recommend doing. Plenty of things could go wrong this way.

Searching online is necessary for plenty of reasons.

    3. Check social media of the companies

Not every moving company is going to have social media accounts but most of them do. Checking these accounts can be very important too. This is where you will be able to see if there are any changes that weren’t mentioned on the website. Updating a website isn’t easy and sometimes companies write things on their Facebook pages until they manage to put the information on their website. For example, they introduced any type of service you might need on their Facebook page but not on their website yet.

    4. Read online reviews

In order to choose right movers in California, you need to pay attention to online reviews. Some companies show their reviews on their websites and others don’t. Some moving companies have Google reviews and even Facebook reviews. This is why we mentioned that doing online research and checking social media is important. Reading reviews is necessary for plenty of reasons.

Online reviews tell a lot about a moving company.

The reviews are going to tell you whether or not you should hire movers. This is where you will be able to read some more experiences from other people. Use the reviews to compare moving companies. Have in mind that Google and Facebook reviews are the best ones to read as some moving companies only post five-star reviews on their websites. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing and we’re not saying that a company has to have bad reviews, we’re just saying that these reviews are the ones you should believe the most. Remember to reward your movers after the move if you were satisfied with a tip and a good online review.

    5. Get a free online estimate

Most moving companies have free moving estimates which you can get online on their website. Some even have in-person estimates that you also don’t have to pay for. The estimate is going to tell you a lot about a moving company. It is also going to help you choose right movers in California as you will be able to compare the estimates and decide which one suits you the most. An estimate is also necessary for those of you who are moving on a tight budget. This estimate is going to help you organize your budget in advance which is necessary in order for you to handle this move without a lot of stress.

If you are moving on a tight budget, online estimates will help you manage your expenses.

    6. Contact the moving companies

The best way to get all the information you want about a moving company is to contact them. You should be able to easily find a number on their website that you could call and ask about anything that interests you. This is the best way to schedule the move too. Doing it online is possible but it is best to have someone on the phone tell you when and how your move is going to be done. This way, you might even be able to get a discount when moving.

    7. Go and see the companies office and talk to somebody in person

If you want to make sure that the company you are hiring is reliable, you could also schedule a meeting with someone from the company’s office. This is the best way to see whether the company is reliable. It might sound like a waste of time but it is going to help you make the final decision. This way you will be able to see if they really have their own trucks and whether the movers have uniforms. This is an important thing and every reliable moving company needs to have its own trucks and uniforms for their movers. Here is where you can read some more questions to ask movers before you hire them.
